In the Spring of 2023, I was fortunate enough to be asked by Rob Roth if I would create some A.I. generated visuals for Blondie's stage show at Cochella!
At the time she was re-releasing a re-mastered version of Koko, which was originally art directed by H.R. Giger. ( the artist who designed the 'Alien' ). So the thought was to take some high-resolution digital scans of original Giger artwork, and train an A.I. model on it.
Now this was in the early part of 2023, and generative A.I was still pretty primitive. However, I was able to create a Giger-model that could produce synthesised Giger visuals, and drive a CG camera through them!
The visuals ran on stage during her "Backfired" performance! So cool!
